Process Safety Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Safety Engineer to join our team at SABIC. As a Process Safety Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe operation of our processes and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and monitor HAZOP/Risk assessment studies and track implementation of recommendations.
- Ensure Process Safety Principles and best practices are implemented early in the design phase of MOC package review.
- Lead and participate in Process Safety Incidents Investigations.
- Carry out risk assessments on a regular basis and track implementation of recommendations.
- Develop regular process safety audit plans for our facilities.
- Lead and participate during Process Safety audits.
- Improve process safety culture and knowledge level across the company.
- Provide consultation on process safety standards and systems, as well as coaching and supporting relevant departments in risk analysis techniques.
- Communicate with regulatory bodies and interact with SABIC's global EHSS team.
- Suggest best practices adopted by other companies to improve process safety performance.
- Track all leading indicators, actions, and projects related to Process Safety; maintain records and periodical reports.
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in process safety.
- Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience with HAZARD and Risk Assessment tools (e.g. HAZOP, HAZID, FMCA).
- Basic understanding of LOPA methodology, Process Design, and Process Control philosophy, Calculation of release quantities from leaks.
- Familiarity with International Process Safety standards, codes, and regulations (API-754/753/752/520/521, IEC61508).
- Knowledge of SABIC's Safety, Health, and Environmental Management System (SH EMS), Flare system, IPF classification, and SIL studies, mechanical design, and overpressure protection.
- Computer literate and hands-on experience in operation and process engineering.
Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
