Job Description:

The Cybersecurity Risk Specialist is a key member of the Salam team, responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing cybersecurity risks across the organization's technical projects, infrastructure, people, third-party vendors, process, and cloud environments.

This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, maintains an up-to-date risk register and treatment plans, and conducts annual risk assessments for Salam's assets, including technical infrastructure, social media, and cloud technology.

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments for technical projects throughout their lifecycle, including planning, implementation, and go-live phases.
  • Assess cybersecurity risks associated with significant changes to Salam's infrastructure and provide recommendations for mitigation.
  • Evaluate cybersecurity risks during the planning phase for third-party services and collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective risk management.
  • Periodically assess and monitor the cybersecurity posture of critical third-party vendors to ensure their risks are adequately managed.
  • Perform an annual cybersecurity risk assessment covering Salam's people, technology, and processes to identify areas for improvement.
Responsibilities:

The Cybersecurity Risk Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Operations teams to collect detailed system information at least twice a year.
  • Reviewing secure configuration and hardening reports, assessing associated risks, and providing recommendations.
  • Checking the source code review for all systems developed in-house to ensure they meet security standards.
  • Maintaining a current risk register and developing treatment plans with assigned due dates to manage risks effectively.
  • Preparing risk acceptance documentation as required and tracking the resolution of each acceptance.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Experience developing and implementing GRC policies and procedures.
  • Multitasking skills, ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication skills.
  • Certification or training related to Cybersecurity is highly desirable.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a relevant role and good experience using Office products.
