Parsons is seeking a skilled Health and Safety Expert to provide expertise, advice, and technical assistance to project or program managers in implementing risk management practices and complying with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead project SH&E specialists in implementing work plans and the company's risk management practices.
  • Represent the business unit SH&E director on project worksites.
  • Advise project manager, personnel on conforming to the Environmental, Safety, Health, and Risk Program (ESHARP) management system and policies.
  • Develop site-specific work plans, SH&E compliance programs, training programs, and orientation plans fully conforming to regulations and client requirements.
  • Evaluate contractors' SH&E performance, planning, and culture to be consistent with the company's risk management practices and core values.
  • Audit projects against corporate standards and create written audit reports.
  • Inspect worksites to detect hazards and provide expertise to project personnel to eliminate/control risks associated with exposure to hazards.
  • Implement occupational injury and incident reporting processes.
  • Initiate and conduct thorough incident investigations and root cause analyses using defensible protocols.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 10 years of related work experience in the field of Health and Safety, including some supervisory experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Federal and State health and safety regulations and reporting procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of safety-related national consensus standards.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
