Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Urban Designer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing and initiating engineering drawings for assigned projects.

">

You will work under direct supervision, completing design assignments of moderate complexity, and under general supervision, develop engineering drawings of moderate complexity. You will apply a solid level of understanding within a specific discipline and be familiar with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.

Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Develop and initiate engineering drawings for assigned projects in conformance with project requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by discipline engineers.">
  • Complete design assignments of moderate complexity under direct supervision.">
  • Develop engineering drawings of moderate complexity under general supervision.">
  • Apply a solid level of understanding within a specific discipline.">
  • Familiar with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.">
  • Understand the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures.">
  • Basis knowledge of Engineer's process of performing and verifying design calculations to support the overall project design.">
  • Fully understands the purpose and use of vendor documents and reviews supplier documents for accuracy.">
  • Basis knowledge of materials management and cost estimating methods.">
  • Assists in the collection of data on manpower, man-hour, and labor costs requirements for design staff to aid in evaluating budget.">
  • Basic knowledge of cost analysis and forecasting.">

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) in a relevant design profession such as Master Planning / Urban Design / Architecture.">
  • Strong design and management skills.">
  • Capable of working on own initiative or as part of a larger multidisciplinary team.">
  • Able to mentor and help subordinates and peers to achieve career progression.">
  • Able to discuss career goals and aspirations.">
  • Assisting in managing teams preparing zoning and development control regulations, guidelines, processes and procedures.">
  • Must be conversant of evolving standards of the profession primarily with respect to collaborative and multi-disciplinary design.">
  • Architectural and urban design, and landscape design expertise to create holistic built environments.">
  • Ability to think strategically and lead cross-functional teams to deliver results-driven solutions.">
