Job Description

Role Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled BIM Structural Engineer to join our team at Assystem, a leading player in the energy transition. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for creating and performing structural engineering 3D-BIM modeling and developing designs that meet the company's goals for client deliverables.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Create structural BIM models and design drawings in accordance with Building Information Modeling (BIM) standards and company guidelines.
  • Develop and generate structural BIM modeling and CAD drawings as per Building Execution Planning (BEP) requirements and project standards.
  • Prepare structural design drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings for construction and project delivery.
  • Coordinate with engineers to collect project requirements and ensure consistency and full coordination between all design trades using x-ref tools or BIM links.
  • Create parametric Revit families as per design inputs and drawings.
  • Print drawings in PDF, DWG, or other formats for submittals and squad check meetings.
  • Perform self-eye technical review on structural drawings prior to commencing the first eye review process and prior to starting QC checking for any submittals.
  • Attend technical meetings with client BIM teams and technical BIM peers as requested by department heads or senior engineers.
  • Extract material quantities from BIM for quantity submission to quantity surveyor teams.
  • Comply with checklists shared from engineers for drawings/BIM models throughout any project for technical items.
  • Participate in internal technical meetings on task and project levels.
  • Create quality assurance department packages for approval and fill checklists required by QC teams related to BIM/drawings as part of company standards.
  • Generate BIM interference clash reports and resolve modeling clashes to send clash-free models to project HODs for review.
  • Perform BIM standardization parameters and norms as per BEP and project requirements.
  • Archive markups drawings given by engineers at every design stage and provide highlighted markups drawings as evidence of comments implementations.
  • Be responsible for drawings folders during all design stages and track BIM records.
