About the Role:

Parsons Oman is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in a key role within our MEP construction and engineering department. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for exercising technical expertise in the design and implementation of mechanical systems for major construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop building MEP layouts, utility layouts, and other related deliverables.
  • Develop layouts and details of HVAC, potable water, sewer, and firefighting systems.
  • Conduct design reviews of HVAC systems and their components.
  • Conduct design reviews of firefighting and potable water systems and their components.
  • Develop layouts and details of potable water, fire water, and storm water pump stations, including pumps, pipes, valves, and fittings.
  • Select pumps and chillers, and size pipes for all disciplines.
  • Assist in determining the scope of procurement work, schedules, and budgets for assigned project buyouts, and monitor progress to maintain those procurements.
  • Interface with procurement and subcontract personnel to facilitate the bid process.
  • Coordinate the utilization of interdisciplinary technical personnel on the project with other Project Engineers.
  • Coordinate the assignment of personnel from other technical support groups within the company.
  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the project or study.
  • Ensure client criteria and scope are met by all engineering disciplines. Expedite the distribution of action items following discussions/meetings with the client and Project Manager.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation of activity for the client and project management.
  • Obtain, analyze, and circulate technical and contractual information to project disciplines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized university.
  • 2+ years of directly related experience in heavy industrial systems mechanical design (Experience may include HVAC, Piping, Plumbing, ventilation systems).
  • Knowledge of design and installation of mechanical systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
