Job Summary

The Civil Engineer - Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of infrastructure projects, ensuring that all work is completed according to technical specifications, regulatory standards, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Management: Develop and implement project plans, including detailed designs, calculations, and specifications, in collaboration with architects, surveyors, and other engineers.
  • Site and Contractor Management: Supervise site activities, ensuring compliance with project plans and safety regulations, and coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure smooth progress and resolve on-site issues.
  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare cost estimates for upcoming activities and cost monitoring for running activities, estimating and quantifying required materials and preparing look-ahead plans.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges in the project and develop mitigation strategies to address them, ensuring that all risk management practices are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Sustainability and Environmental Considerations: Incorporate sustainable design principles and consider environmental impacts in all project plans and decisions.
  • Communication and Reporting: Prepare and present reports, proposals, and project updates to clients, stakeholders, and management, maintaining clear and effective communication with all parties involved in the project.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare and review technical documentation, including design calculations, specifications, and reports, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Typically requires 4-9 years of experience in civil engineering or a related discipline.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.), as well as familiarity with project management tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop practical solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work, particularly in design and documentation.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently when required.
