Job Overview

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing and planning electrical systems and associated equipment, including LV and MV power. S/he will design and configure solutions as per client requirements.

Main Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Design and Configure Solutions: The Lead Electrical Design Specialist will design, configure and customize solutions provided to clients as requested and validated by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead Contractors: S/he will lead contractors in the design of new products/processes and improve/maintain existing ones.
  • Review Shop Drawings: The Senior Electrical Engineer will review and modify shop drawings prepared by subcontractors.
  • Verify Electrical Calculations: S/he will verify all electrical calculations (discrimination study, short circuit, lux calculation, etc.).
  • Conduct Gap Analysis: The Lead Electrical Design Specialist will conduct a gap analysis for all technical issues such as, but not limited to, interfaces to other systems and new applications/modules recommending enhancements and solving complaints and inquiries.
  • Implement Company Methodologies: S/he will highlight inconsistencies through the implementation of different solutions and act while ensuring the company methodologies are well maintained.
  • Upgrade Exercises: The Senior Electrical Engineer will conduct upgrades exercises and implementations through best practices and design documentations.
  • User Acceptance Test: S/he will conduct User Acceptance Test with the client to ensure the successful delivery of the project tasks.
  • Commissioning Reports: The Lead Electrical Design Specialist will ensure that electrical systems are being installed, tested and commissioned according to current industry and company standards and client requirements.
  • Create Systems Testing: S/he will create systems testing and commissioning reports.
  • Pre-Sales Activities: The Senior Electrical Engineer will assist in pre-sales activities including presentations, demos, proposals and scoping.
  • Relationships: S/he will build strong relationships with manufacturers/suppliers.

Position Requirements:

  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills including knowledge of electrical related software.
  • Up-to-date Knowledge: Up to date with the latest products/technologies.
  • Independence and Confidentiality: Ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Codes and Regulations: Good knowledge on international and local codes.
  • Background: A background in site work is preferred.
  • Value Engineering: Extensive experience in conducting value engineering for electrical designs.
  • Data Center Experience: Data center experience is a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: At least 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in designing the blueprint and reviewing the designs. Must have experience in Generators, UPS, LV Systems, Short Circuit, Voltage drop calculations. MEP Data Centre experience is a plus.
