We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in the genset manufacturing division. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical solutions for our power generation equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop conceptual designs and finalize them with the Mechanical Design Manager/Engineering Manager.
- Establish a list of drawings/documents in accordance with SOS/PDS and project requirements.
- Prepare mechanical drawings in CAD within the allowed time frame and complete all necessary calculations to ensure safe and correct design.
- Follow the agreed standard style of drawings as designs.
- Review design drawings and make necessary corrections/changes.
- Review supplier/customer drawings and determine interface requirements.
- Approve supplier drawings.
- Create mechanical items part numbers and BOMs and purchasing specs.
- Coordinate with electrical design engineers to accomplish tasks.
- Coordinate with major equipment controllers to obtain necessary information.
- Coordinate with procurement and production to accomplish project tasks.
- Conduct site visits to complete design.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Work under pressure to meet document deadlines.
- Attend Kick-Off meetings (KOM) and customer interface meetings.
- Support other departments during assembly or troubleshooting.
- Ensure engineering documents are completed correctly.
- Perform design calculations as necessary.
- Perform cost estimates and preliminary designs when requested.
- Understand and comply with procedures associated with ISO 9001.
- Continuously participate in developing and improving designs to reduce material costs and man-hours.
- Young Saudi professional with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Working knowledge of quality systems and standards.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, with 2 years of experience in designing and developing solutions for the power generation industry.
- Preference will be given to candidates familiar with engineering standards: ISO-8528 and Saudi Aramco 17-SAMMS-518.
