The Position:

  • Manage the lighting design and installation process from inception to completion.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure lighting solutions align with the museum's design, exhibition, and visitor experience objectives.
  • Collaborate with external partners, including designers, engineers, and contractors, to deliver a cohesive and engaging visitor experience.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement comprehensive lighting plans that harmonize with the museum's architectural features and artistic content.
  2. Supervise the integration of lighting systems into the museum's exhibits, ensuring precise control and optimal visual impact.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guarantee that lighting solutions meet the project's creative and technical demands.
  4. Lead the coordination of lighting installation schedules, ensuring efficient execution and adherence to high-quality standards.
  5. Conduct regular quality control checks to verify that lighting systems satisfy required performance, quality, and safety standards.
  6. Establish effective relationships with lighting suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely deliveries and installations.
  7. Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting services to maintain the integrity and functionality of lighting systems throughout the project.
  8. Assume responsibility for managing project timelines, resources, and budgets relevant to the lighting component.

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on museum and exhibition lighting.
  • In-depth knowledge of lighting technologies, systems, and design principles, particularly in museums, galleries, or cultural institutions.
  • Proven project management skills, with ability to handle complex lighting projects on time and within budget.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with capacity to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify and address technical lighting challenges during both installation and post-installation phases.
  • Meticulous approach to achieving the highest standards of lighting design and performance.
  • Degree or certification in lighting design, electrical engineering, or a related field is highly beneficial.
