Job Description

In this position, you will play an integral part in our financial business team, working closely with highly skilled specialists to deliver 'engineering ideas' for clients across various financial projects.

You will apply your sound understanding of project financial accounting, assisting the unit leader in managing finances, registering projects, revenue recognition, following up on debtors, adjusting project budgets, and analysing income statements.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring all unbilled WIP is invoiced timeously.
  • Compiling information used for monthly reporting and annual budgets.
  • Processing journals and invoices.
  • Successfully handling project accounting for multiple projects.
  • Exhibiting strong organisational, planning, and prioritisation skills.
  • Possessing sound knowledge of accounting systems.
  • Applying excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Working independently (self-starter) as well as part of a group.
  • Demonstrating exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years of project accounting experience.
  • A BCom Finance Degree or equivalent qualification.

Skills and Characteristics

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Experience with Vantagepoint or other project accounting software.
  • PowerBI skills would be advantageous.
