Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintain a safe and secure patient care environment that respects individual rights and dignity.
  2. Ensure confidentiality of all patient and facility data.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues to plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction.
  4. Communicate effectively in sensitive situations, addressing reported complaints and concerns.
  5. Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of clinical care services.
  6. Monitor and maintain accountability for controlled substances inventory and medications.
  7. Ensure adherence to medical and nursing plans of care, clarifying any areas of uncertainty.
  8. Verify daily crash cart checks and restock as needed.
  9. Provide direct patient care and ongoing supervision of clinical staff.
  10. Maintain compliance with Infection Control Policies and Procedures.
  11. Optimize equipment performance and address any needing repair.
  12. Coordinate patient movement through bed placement.
  13. Supervise activities related to patient care among staff members.
  14. Analyze potential problems, resolve them promptly, and ensure effective communication within the unit/department.
  15. Promote consistent preparation of nursing records.
  16. Foster collaborative relationships with diverse staff and multidisciplinary team members.
  17. Deliver high-quality, efficient nursing care services.
  18. Participate in evidence-based practices, research programs, and integration of findings into clinical processes.
  19. Contribute to recruitment and retention efforts, assessment, and planning activities.
  20. Disseminate research findings to internal and external audiences.
  21. Evaluate and apply evidence-based findings in practice.
  22. Develop and implement technology solutions to enhance patient experience and nursing practice.
  23. Seek assistance when necessary and escalate operational and clinical issues.
  24. Support training and development of students, trainees, interns, and new graduates.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Adhere to policies, plans, and programs within the organization.
  2. Maintain knowledge on quality and safety, accreditation policy management, and document management systems.
