About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Asterix Communications. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation of mechanical systems, ensuring that they meet the required standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inspect and record the construction works carried out by the contractor on site and resolve any site-generated issues.
  2. Ensure that the performance of the work carried out is in accordance with the drawings and specifications.
  3. Supervise and inspect additional works as required.
  4. Process joint measurement forms and maintain records of their status.
  5. Maintain records of completed works for interim and final payment and as-built plans.
  6. Document the contractor's activities that may lead to claims.
  7. Check all form works, job orders, and inspection reports.
  8. Follow project specifications during inspection work.
  9. Adhere to safe working methods and report to the Senior Engineer for any activity on site.
  10. Maintain a detailed diary of the day's work activities, issues, work approved or rejected, hours of operation, labor, and equipment used, etc., and sign at the end of each day.
  11. Responsible for checking the day work records submitted by the contractor.
  12. Maintain records of site resources, daily progress of work, inspections, construction, and workshop drawings, method statements.
  13. Draft site instructions for any required variations from, or additions to, the contract documents.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical works (i.e., building services mechanical) installation of pumps, HVAC, piping, fire protection, etc.
  3. Good experience on final acceptance criteria of the quality of work.
  4. Knowledge of inspection test plans and procedures.
  5. Work experience with consultants for inspection of total construction activities on site.
  6. Familiarity with the use of computer languages – Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
