Data Center Operations Manager

At Amazon, we're building a team of experts who will help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of Data Center Technicians, including management of individual and team performance.
  2. Supervise the team to maintain and troubleshoot systems, hardware, and network devices.
  3. Ensure effective management of data center operations, including ticket queue management and hardware logistics.
  4. Drive process improvement, technology innovation, and automation within the team.
  5. Manage outage by severity level and act as the call leader.
  6. Focus on delivering high-quality services and continuously strive to improve customer experience.

Requirements:

  1. 5+ years of people management experience in an IT environment.
  2. Strong knowledge of change, problem, and incident management.
  3. Excellent communication skills, including presentation, open discussion, and team coaching.
  4. Fluent verbal and written communication in English.
  5. Understanding of financial budgeting, Capex, and Opex concepts.
  6. Cumulative experience in Data Center Operations or similar roles in a mission-critical environment.
  7. Cumulative experience with IT infrastructure domains, including compute server platforms, storage server platforms, server components, network devices, cabling, and IT service delivery principles.
  8. Project Management skill.
  9. Capacity planning and budgetary experience.
  10. Experience in Safety and Security measures.
  11. ITIL Foundation, PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Risk-related certifications.
  12. Linux certification and/or administration experience.
