Key Responsibilities:

  1. Administration:

  2. Daily Operations & Monitoring:
    1. Monitor Splunk's operational health, including resource utilization.
    2. Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and potential system failures.
    3. Validate daily log ingestion to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
    4. Monitor search and index performance for speed and efficiency.
    5. Provide 24/7 monitoring and quick response for critical incidents and system outages.
    6. Troubleshoot and resolve configuration, search, and data ingestion issues.
    7. Conduct root cause analysis for downtime incidents and collaborate with internal teams.
  3. Security & Compliance Support:
    1. Regularly review and tune SIEM capabilities for effective threat detection.
    2. Assist in compliance reporting and auditing processes through relevant dashboards.
    3. Develop use cases and alerts for potential security incidents.
    4. Conduct performance reviews and recommend optimizations for efficiency and storage.
    5. Stay updated on Splunk features and implement relevant improvements.
  4. Reporting & Documentation:
    1. Prepare regular health check reports highlighting key metrics and incident trends.
    2. Maintain comprehensive documentation on configurations, alerts, and dashboards.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience with Splunk administration, including installation and configuration.
  2. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in Splunk administration.
  3. Strong understanding of SIEM concepts and data management best practices.
  4. Experience in incident management and troubleshooting, ideally in a 24/7 environment.
  5. Familiarity with security compliance requirements and audit processes.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
