We are seeking a highly skilled Primary Design Engineer to join our team at Hitachi Energy in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. As a key member of our business, you will be responsible for the primary engineering of Gas Insulated Switchgear, designing and conducting experiments, analyzing, and interpreting the data.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain electrical and gas single-line diagrams, plan and section drawings based on various offers or tenders and customer requirements.
  • Prepare technical particulars of GIS and high-voltage equipment such as breakers, disconnectors, etc., for submission to the customer.
  • Review and ensure the quality of deliverables before submission to the client.
  • Prepare technical documents for procurement of current transformers and voltage transformers.
  • Participate actively in customer meetings and project review meetings.
  • Reduce the lead time and cost of the offered GIS solution by developing a solution as per project technical requirements.
  • Adhere to the detailed project plan to meet on-time delivery.
  • Ensure the quality of deliverables as a top priority and focus on optimized solutions benefiting both the customer and Hitachi Energy.
  • Interface with civil, steel, and application engineers on systems or solutions from Hitachi Energy/EPC companies.
  • Develop GIS layouts for various voltage levels as part of the product team, understanding variances and how they can be minimized in the design.
  • Embody Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

Your Background

  • A bachelor's degree or diploma in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in GIS, with experience in 3D tools like ProE, Creo, AutoCAD, SAP, and MS-Office.
  • Knowledge of relevant international standards such as IEC or ANSI and of high-voltage GIS products.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills combined with open-mindedness, reliability, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English language is required.
