Key Responsibilities
The WHS Manager will be responsible for partnering with a site operations team at AMZL Stations to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. This includes identifying and mitigating potential safety hazards and scaling up safety awareness of new hires in the cluster. The WHS Manager will also lead a WHS & Safety team members: Safety Specialist, Safety Coordinators, Onsite first aid Associates. This individual must instruct and train Operations Leaders in company safety policies and assist the operations site teams in incorporating our safety standards at their site.

Accountabilities
The WHS Manager will be accountable for maintaining building and process path level Risk assessments in order to recommend control measures to pre-empt injury to associates. They will also be responsible for communicating safety team expectations and giving frequent and appropriate feedback to their safety teams and ensuring they are executing to the core competencies of an Amazon safety professional. This includes conducting consistent one-on-one meetings and supporting career growth plans for their team. Assigning stretch assignments based on skill sets and developmental needs is part of their role.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in WHS and environmental management. They will have a Science graduate / Diploma in Engineering / Engineering Degree + Safety Diploma from recognized institute / NEBOSH IGC or Diploma. Additionally, they will have 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience. They should have knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics. Experience in Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS with mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people is also desirable. The candidate should also have experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics. Experience in Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS with mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people. Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment. Analyze data of injuries, Near Misses and Dragonfly inputs to identify trends to help the Region in decision-making to drive improvements. Effective communication, both verbal and written, is crucial for this role.
