Job Overview

The Junior Account Specialist role at Aon involves working with our construction brokers and account executives to identify and address risk-related needs in the large construction space.

This includes maintaining strong client relationships, capturing and analyzing data on risk exposures, and supporting renewal processes and proposal preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with brokers and account executives to nurture strong client relationships.
  • Capture and analyze data on exposures, loss history, and coverage needs for submissions.
  • Facilitate timely and accurate information flow between clients, AE, and account team members.
  • Handle client open items lists and respond to ad-hoc requests.
  • Draft assigned elements of client service plans, stewardship reports, and other client presentations.
  • Actively support and supervise the renewal process, including proposal preparation.
  • Negotiate renewal terms with incumbents and/or alternative markets, draft quote comparisons, and follow up for binders, policies, and endorsements.
  • Receive and run coverage inquiries and endorsement requests. Serve as key client liaison for items such as certificates, auto IDs, invoicing process, discrepancies, premium finance agreements, summaries of insurance, and policy transmittals.
  • Ensure operational excellence, adhering to Aon service management requirements.
  • Assist account executives on assigned accounts, managing key processes that serve clients and undertaking client-facing and internal activities related to these processes.
  • May provide guidance and mentoring to a less senior account specialist.
  • Review client contracts to determine insurance requirements versus coverage in place, as well as issuing a certificate of insurance evidencing the same.

Requirements

  • 3 years preferable experience in the insurance field, specifically with experience in the area of construction insurance.
  • Effective organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of construction insurance.
  • Ability to handle multiple, non-congruent tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or similar scheduling programs.
  • Full fluency in English, both written and spoken.
