About the Job

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). As a key member of our Infrastructure Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical infrastructure of our data centers is operating within contract parameters.

You'll work closely with software, hardware, and network engineers, as well as supply chain specialists, security experts, and other vital roles to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

The successful candidate will have experience in critical facilities management, risk management, and mitigation, planning, implementation of corrective and preventative maintenance for critical infrastructure, and vendor management within our AWS Data Center environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Safety and Security: Ensure all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating within contract parameters.
  2. Maintenance and Operations: Perform daily operational excellence, maintenance of critical infrastructure, supervising specialist vendors, acting as first responders to incidents, and becoming subject matter experts for the facility.
  3. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with data center operations, including but not limited to, power outages, water leaks, and fires.
  4. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors and contractors performing construction, maintenance, and upgrading works in large-scale critical environments.
