About the Job:

This position requires a skilled engineer who can design and program PLC controls for our material handling systems. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the material handling domain and possess strong analytical skills.

The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary project team to deliver a functional specification, design and program PLC controls, and commission the material handling system at the customer site.

Key Requirements:

  • A technical degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Industrial Automation, Computer Science, or Control Technology at least at the bachelor level.
  • Previous experience in the material handling domain is highly beneficial.
  • Desired experience level: 8 years and above in a Project engineering environment (system integration, solution design, project delivery).
  • Familiarity with design practices and qualification requirements, systems development lifecycle.
  • Able to develop PLC applications (TIA Portal, Siemens S7-300 & 400 series, Siemens S7-1500 series).
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley / other PLC platform is an added advantage.
  • Has knowledge of SCADA applications in relevant platforms (WinCC, WebFactory, …).
  • Able to develop application for safety systems using relevant platforms e.g. Siemens safety PLC.
  • Knowledge of fieldbus technology: Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet, AS-I, CC-Link.
  • Communicating with regular progress reports, aware of Earned Value Management, managing deadlines and milestones.
  • Feeds back lessons learned from the project into product, process, and tooling.
  • Has experience working with Cross Functional, diverse, and global teams.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proactive, flexible, pragmatic, and hands-on attitude.
  • Ability to adapt to change with ease, capable of multi-tasking, and can manage various complicated tasks.
  • Willing to go the extra mile to develop Control competency in the department.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English.

About the Team:

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers, including Project Leader, Integration Manager, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers. Your role will involve collaborating closely with the team to deliver a functional specification, design and program PLC controls, and commission the material handling system at the customer site.

The team is focused on delivering high-quality results, and we expect all team members to be proactive, flexible, and willing to adapt to change.
