About the Role

This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the success of our programme. As a Health and Environmental Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Occupational Health and Safety performance meets the highest standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Project/programme specific OH&S Plans in line with DC OHSMS and contractual obligations.
  • Engage effectively with competent authorities during site visits, ensuring alignment with DC requirements.
  • Evaluate compliance with DC OHSMS, applicable Saudi laws, and Regulations/Ministerial Decrees among project stakeholders.
  • Prioritize and undertake OH&S training for teams, documenting records as necessary.
  • Establish and oversee Construction Supervision Consultants and Contractors competence training and evaluation processes.
  • Confirm adequate resource allocation and competency of OH&S staff through formal interviews.
  • Manage leave and vacations to ensure suitable site OH&S coverage at all times.
  • Review and approve MSRAs, validating them with the OH&S Manager.
  • Closely monitor and address OH&S issues in progress meetings, following up on actions until closure.
  • Ensure timely reporting of incidents and breaches to concerned authorities, adhering to DC OHSMS and Saudi Arabia legal requirements.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into incidents, submitting detailed reports and recommendations to the OHSE Director.
  • Prepare and submit OH&S weekly & monthly reports to DC in the approved format and time frame, including KPIs and statistical information.

Requirements

  • Hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (NVQ5/BSC Diploma)
  • Possess NEBOSH IGC and Construction Certification or equivalent
  • IOSH, IIRSM, or Equivalent certification is preferred
  • Minimum 8-10 years overall experience
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in Middle East
  • Demonstrate excellent report writing and communication skills
  • Experience working with multi-nationality teams
  • Familiarity with MS Office
  • Arabic speaking is advantageous
  • Experience with major projects in the Middle East is preferred
  • Possess a valid driving license
