Senior Chemist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Chemist to join our team at Arab Center for Engineering Studies. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading laboratory operations, conducting advanced chemical testing, and supervising laboratory activities.

• Lead Laboratory Operations: Plan and distribute work to authorized chemists, supervise working areas, and ensure that all tests are carried out as per required standard test methods and SOPs.
• Conduct Advanced Chemical Testing: Perform advanced chemical tests assigned to him/her in accordance with relevant standards/SOPs in an expedient, quality-conscious manner.
• Supervise Laboratory Activities: Check laboratory worksheets of other chemists for accuracy of data entry and calculations before submission to the Section Head/Senior Chemical/Environmental Engineer/concerned engineer for reporting.
• Prepare Test Reports: Upon authorization by Department Manager, prepare and initially check test reports prior to their submission for approval by the Technical Section Head/Department Manager.
• Participate in Method Development: Participate in the review, data generation, and/or writing of technical documents such as SOPs, development, and validation of new test methods.
• Implement Quality Assurance Programs: Ensure implementation of in-process quality assurance programs as defined in related standard methods/SOPs, review quality control data, detect trends, investigate any outlying data, and in coordination with the Direct Supervisor, propose and apply required corrective actions.
• Provide Technical Support: Provide technical support and conduct technical training and orientation training of chemists and technicians.
• Monitor Laboratory Equipment: Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation in good working order, including appropriate procedures for usage, clean-up, calibration, and maintenance.
• Implement HSE Management System: Implement the requirements of ACES HSE Management System including using appropriate protective tools and safe work with and disposal of hazardous materials.

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry.
• Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the field of testing laboratory specialized in analysis of environmental, construction, chemical, and food testing.
• Skills: Fundamentals of Chemistry, General knowledge of general science and mathematics including algebra, statistics, and data analysis, Chemical laboratory techniques, equipment, terminology, and procedures, Principles and practices of qualitative and quantitative chemistry and chemical analysis, and more.
