The Shift Area Manager will focus on three key areas: safety, service quality, and customer experience. This includes reviewing operational forecasts, determining productivity requirements, and managing teams to meet building goals.

Main activities include:

  • Reviewing operational forecasts and determining productivity requirements for sort operations
  • Supporting all safety programs to ensure a safe work environment for associates and Delivery Service Providers
  • Proactively identifying and leading process improvement initiatives and Lean tools

As a member of the Amazon Logistics Team, the Shift Area Manager will oversee the day-to-day management of the delivery station, including meetings, training sessions, assigning job duties, and communicating with DSPs and management representatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Management of staff, resources, consumables, and key metrics for the delivery station
  • Coordination of operative meetings, communication with support areas, proper escalations, and analysis of data
  • Assurance of proper operation, planning of shift, audit of the plan, execution of last mile operation

A typical day in the life of the Shift Area Manager may involve:

  • Gemba walk and audit of the plan
  • Shift start-up
  • Execution of safety audits, walks, stand-up meeting
  • Verification of daily ops plan, volume, staff assistance, routes planning
  • Conducting engages with associates, hourly gemba walk, performance audits, quality inspections
  • Completing reporting (Daily Ops plan, Shift Recap Board, End of shift report) and bridging any misses in reporting tool
  • Holding end-of-shift meeting with leadership team to review performance opportunities and necessary actions moving forward
  • Conducting EOS hand-off to incoming Shift manager and creating next day plan

About the Team:

The Amazon Logistics Team is responsible for the day-to-day management of the delivery station, overseeing the operation that focuses on the delivery of Amazon orders direct to customers.

Requirements:

  • Completed Bachelor's Degree or 2+ years Amazon experience
  • 2+ years of direct management experience for employees and their performance
  • 2+ years of experience with performance metrics and process improvement (why-why, data analysis tools)
  • Flexibility to work weekends and/or overnight shifts, availability to work 50% of the time on a night shift
  • Fluent in both Spanish and English
