About the Role

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial HVAC-R systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. System Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of HVAC-R systems and components to identify potential issues and recommend preventive maintenance to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  2. Equipment Fabrication and Installation: Fabricate equipment parts as needed and install new HVAC-R equipment and systems to meet the requirements of our industrial operations.
  3. Repair and Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and repair HVAC-R systems and components to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  4. Project Coordination: Collaborate with our HVAC-R Foreman/Supervisor to coordinate projects and work orders efficiently and effectively.
  5. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports and documentation to track activities, convey information, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  6. Inventory Management: Request equipment and supplies to maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure availability of necessary items for installations and repairs.
  7. Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns and ensure business continuity.
  8. Professional Development: Attend meetings, workshops, and training sessions to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  9. Compliance and Adherence: Adhere to company standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in refrigeration, plant control, troubleshooting, and corrective/preventive maintenance of industrial HVAC-R systems.

You will also need to possess:

  • The ability to operate power tools, gauges, and diagnostic or specialized equipment.
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, sketches, manuals, or work orders.
  • The ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • The ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with colleagues, architects, engineers, and other professionals.
  • The ability to maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports.
