At Mott MacDonald, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the successful delivery of electrical systems and interfaces with MEP systems and building elements for various projects in the Built Environment sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and delivering all electrical systems and interfaces, including power distribution, electrical controls, distribution boards, lighting systems, and earthing and bonding. They will also support the commercial team and assurance team to validate design compliance with employer requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct primary technical reviews on design deliverables related to electrical equipment and system design and calculations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate electrical systems.
  • Coordinate and control multidisciplinary design interface requirements.
  • Support the preparation of reports, manuals, and guidelines for specific electrical and control designs.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations on design changes and non-conformances.
  • Arrange multidisciplinary review workshops and drive for closure.
  • Provide technical input as part of a technical advisory role.
  • Ensure the development of necessary documentation for the review process.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Chartered Engineer ideal, but not mandatory.
  • Able to travel and work remotely from client offices or on site.
  • Experience on the full spectrum of electrical services, including medium voltage, low voltage, fire detection, and alarm systems.
  • Good knowledge of multi-disciplinary MEP services, including Electrical, HVAC, Fire, and Public Health.
  • Manage engineering teams comprising building services engineers.
  • Take financial control of projects.
  • Experience working on Major Projects and within a multidisciplinary team preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience of coordinating with other disciplines and multiple stakeholders across geographies.
  • Ability to present design proposals and discuss design issues with clients, architects, and other stakeholders.
