Job Purpose:
">The Academic Quality Controller plays a crucial role in ensuring that academic results and the SABIS teaching methodology are implemented to the highest standards as per the SABIS Educational System.
">Key Responsibilities:
">- Conduct daily classroom observations to monitor the application of the SABIS point system and classroom management techniques, providing feedback to teachers on their performance.
- Meet with subject coordinators to review student results and develop a documented action plan for underperforming students.
- Prepare exam schedules and study lists term-by-term, ensuring students are aware of exams and required materials in advance.
- Analyze student results regularly through various academic reports and student history files.
- Monitor the performance of assigned shadow teachers to ensure they are using the SABIS point system and teaching methodologies.
- Coordinate with regional centers to ensure subject choices comply with government requirements, external exam requirements, and university admissions.
- Conduct regular spot checks on student workbooks, copybooks, and diaries to verify teachers' use of the point system and teaching methodology.
- Assign teachers at the beginning of the year for different classes to ensure suitable teachers are in each section.
- Develop seating plans according to SABIS requirements to facilitate proper implementation of the SABIS teaching methodology.
- Participate actively in teacher training programs when needed.
- Attend teacher training programs to gain an understanding of new recruits into the system.
- Prepare letters to parents regarding academic and behavioral issues to clarify policy points.
- Meet or contact parents of underperforming students to inform them of their child's performance and create relevant action plans if necessary.
- Document meeting minutes with parents in students' yellow books.
- Organize academic support sessions for underperforming students to improve their performance.
- Meet with underperforming students to set up improvement plans to increase their performance.
- Conduct performance appraisals of teachers in coordination with head of departments/subject coordinators to assess their performance.
- Serve as a mentor and/or role model for all teachers and students within their supervision.
- Continuously follow up on students' progress on a termly basis by entering academic comments on end-of-term reports to inform parents of actions taken.
- Meet with student management coordinators to follow up on action plans to improve student behavior.
- Coordinate with student life coordinators to ensure academic support sessions are efficient and effective.
- E nsure all teachers under their supervision submit lesson plans in a timely manner.
- Perform other related tasks or projects as delegated by SABIS management.
