Your Department:

The Solution Engineering department is responsible for creating winning commercial proposals in close cooperation with the Sales Management department during the sales phase, and successfully implementing the total solution with the Project Execution department. The department comprises a wide range of expertise, enabling us to design and sell comprehensive solutions to customers and execute these designs when awarded.

The key responsibility within the Solution Engineering department is to sell and execute a total solution within one team, without critical interfaces to other departments.

Your Position:

As a Controls Project Engineer - APS Solution Engineering ME, you will work closely with Project Leader, Integration Manager, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers as part of a multidisciplinary team of Engineers. You will manage technical solutions related to Control engineering and support sales in the bid and contract phases. During the execution phase, you will work towards the successful completion of one or more projects in an international environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will design and program PLC controls for our material handling systems (in airports and parcel domains), meeting high-quality demands on a project-by-project basis.
  • During the engineering phase, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary project team to deliver a functional specification.
  • After that, you are responsible for the detailed design, programming, and testing of the PLC software.
  • When the engineering phase is finished, you will commission the material handling system at the customer site, carrying out functional testing of the PLC hardware and software.
  • You will also be responsible for integrating your PLC software into the overall control system and assisting in customer acceptance testing.
  • During project execution, you will closely monitor the available budget and agreed schedule, taking appropriate actions when necessary.

Your Profile:

  • A technical degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Industrial Automation, Computer Science, or Control Technology at least at the bachelor level.
  • Previous experience in the material handling domain is highly beneficial.
  • Desired experience level: 8 years and above in a Project engineering environment (system integration, solution design, project delivery).
  • Familiarity with design practices and qualification requirements, systems development lifecycle.
  • Able to develop PLC applications (TIA Portal, Siemens S7-300 & 400 series, Siemens S7-1500 series).
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley / other PLC platform is an added advantage.
  • Has knowledge of SCADA applications in relevant platforms (WinCC, WebFactory, …).
  • Able to develop application for safety systems using relevant platforms e.g. Siemens safety PLC.
  • Knowledge of fieldbus technology: Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet, AS-I, CC-Link.
  • Communicating with regular progress reports, aware of Earned Value Management, managing deadlines and milestones.
  • Feeds back lessons learned from the project into product, process, and tooling.
  • Has experience working with Cross Functional, diverse, and global teams.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proactive, flexible, pragmatic, and hands-on attitude.
  • Ability to adapt to change with ease, capable of multi-tasking, and can manage various complicated tasks.
  • Willing to go the extra mile to develop Control competency in the department.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
