Electrical Design Engineer, Low Voltage Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at alfanar Group. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for performing study and design of protection and control panels tasks efficiently, in a timely manner, and to quality standards as per defined policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Launch and Initial Preparation:
    • Attend project launching meetings as required by the Section Head.
    • Prepare job files following standard filing procedures.
    • Study and evaluate contractual documents received from launching meetings.
  • Design and Drawing Responsibilities:
    • Agree/discuss schedules with the Design Section Manager.
    • Use design software to ensure accurate drawings.
    • Ensure standard drawing format and symbols are followed during drawing preparation.
    • Supervise CAD Operators in transforming technical data into panel layouts, one-line diagrams, civil work guides, and schematic designs.
    • Check and issue BOMs for long-lead materials within one day after receipt of IPO to SAP.
    • Issue balance materials within one week after receipt of IPO.
    • Use stock materials where technically acceptable and there is no risk of allowing a reduction in non-moving stocks.
    • Use monthly plans as a basis for priority for production release.
    • Check and ensure BOMs match between SAP and production drawings.
    • Release production drawings as per agreed schedules.
    • Release the latest/production drawings to the Mechanical Team as per agreed schedules for MMR issuance.
    • Provide technical support during production and QC.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Apply all safety procedures.
  • Role Accountability:
    • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to subordinates in all aspects of their work.
    • Delegate subordinates in each respective assignment.
    • Ensure fair distribution of tasks to maintain morale and motivation of subordinates.
  • Delivery:
    • Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
    • Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
    • Provide periodic reports detailing deviations and execution of planned tasks.
  • Problem-Solving:
    • Resolve any related problems that arise and escalate complex operational issues.
  • Quality:
    • Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes, including specifications for products or processes or related activities.
  • Business Process Improvements:
    • Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automation opportunities as much as possible.
  • Compliance:
    • Comply with related policies and procedures and work instructions.
  • Safety:
    • Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined areas of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.
    Requirements
    • Academic Qualification:
      • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
    • Work Experience:
      • 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical design engineering.
    • Technical/Functional Competencies:
      • Safety.
