About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team at Koch Engineered Solutions. As a Mechanical Designer, you will play a critical role in the preparation of shop packages for production, ensuring the accuracy of drawings and Bill of Materials, and working closely with the engineering and production team to deliver high-quality equipment that meets customer and company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Extract detail drawings and BOM from CAD 3D models or CAD General arrangement drawings
  • Prepare shop packages for production, including detail drawings, Bill of Materials, Nesting plans, and other relevant documents
  • Prepare Excel BOM or populate BOM in the ERP system
  • Handle workshop comments and technical clarifications, and interface with the involved party (Engineering, KES Workshop, Vendor workshop, QC) for technical issues until resolution
  • Participate in fabrication package reviews
  • Support the local Sales or Execution team with drafting activities
  • Work in accordance with company procedures and standards
Requirements
  • Strong adherence to safety protocols and demonstrated safe work habits
  • Good command of English language, written and spoken
  • Experience in preparation of shop packages for production (Detail drawings, Bill of Materials, Nesting plans, etc.) for pressure vessels, steel stacks, and/or piping systems/skids
  • Knowledge of fabrication techniques, cutting, forming, machining, and welding
  • Good understanding of steel materials international standards
  • Experience with oil & gas and/or Chemicals/Petrochemicals industry standards
  • Demonstratable track record of delivering on time, within budget, with quality and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written
  • Well-organized and able to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
  • Diploma in Mechanical design drafting
  • Experience with Autodesk suite (AutoCAD, Inventor, Plant 3D)
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Experience with PLM system
  • Previous project experience with Combustion systems (Burners, Boilers, Flares, Thermal oxidizers)
