Job Summary

Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital Madinah is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ophthalmic Care Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support in our ophthalmology department.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Patient Care and Support: Assist patients with medical and ocular histories, record examination information, and provide visual acuity testing and other eye-related assessments.
  2. Diagnostic and Treatment Procedures: Assist with automated visual testing, eye photography, and other diagnostic procedures, and explain diagnostic and treatment procedures to patients.
  3. Equipment Maintenance and Sanitation: Operate, calibrate, and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment, and sanitize equipment and restock medications and supplies as needed.
  4. Administrative Support: Handle basic telephone triage, prepare exam rooms for procedures, and assist with ophthalmic surgical assistance in the clinic procedure room and operating room.
  5. Education and Training: Serve as a mentor/instructor to ophthalmic staff in patient care and proper use of equipment, and provide training and support as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for graduation from a Committee on Accreditation for Ophthalmic Medical Personnel (CoA-OMP) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Ophthalmic Technicians program.
  • Experience: At least two years of experience at the Ophthalmic Technician level, with a good command of oral and written Arabic and English communication.
  • Certifications: Certification by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology is preferred at the COA, COT, or COMT level, and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
