About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Primary Design Engineer to join our team at Hitachi Energy in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. As a Primary Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the primary engineering of Gas Insulated Switchgear, designing and conducting experiments, analyzing, and interpreting the data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Prepare Electrical and Gas single line diagrams, plan and section drawings based on various offers or tenders and customer requirements.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare technical particulars of GIS and high voltage equipment such as breakers, disconnectors, etc. for submission to customers.
  • Review and Quality Assurance: Review deliverables before submission to clients to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Procurement Support: Prepare technical documents for the procurement of current transformers and voltage transformers.
  • Customer Engagement: Participate actively in customer meetings and project review meetings to ensure effective communication and project progress.
  • Process Improvement: Reduce lead time and cost of the offered GIS solution by developing a solution as per project technical requirements.
  • Project Management: Adhere to the detailed project plan to meet on-time delivery and ensure quality of deliverables.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Interface with civil, steel, and application engineers on systems or solutions part from Hitachi Energy/EPC companies.
  • Design Optimization: Prepare GIS layouts for various voltage levels as part of the product team, understanding variances, and minimizing design variances.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience: 1 to 5 years of experience in GIS, with experience in 3D tools like ProE, Creo, AutoCAD, SAP, and MS-Office.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of relevant international standards such as IEC or ANSI, high voltage GIS products, and strong interpersonal, communication, teamworking skills combined with open-mindedness, reliability, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Language: Proficiency in both spoken and written English language is required.
