Responsible for specific tasks associated with the implementation of application systems within HMG and ensure that the system meets the functional requirements of the HMG. Using a nursing perspective, the Nursing Informatics Specialist works closely with ITG to ensure the clinical user requests are considered during the definition of functional requirements.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Assess the need and upgradation for information systems to support and enhance nursing practice in coordination with end users.
- Gather and compile information to help create improvements in healthcare systems and discover ways to find the most effective patient care by considering the patients' resources.
- Facilitate the integration of data, information, and knowledge to support patients, nurses, and other providers in their decision-making in all roles and settings.
- Standardize and implement nursing data and content related to the clinical transformation process.
- Responsible for data collection, statistical analysis, documentation, preparation and feedback reporting for Nursing Operations.
- Coordinate acquisition of required resources for EMR promptly and accurately analyzes user needs and requirements related to EMR.
- Conduct systematic approach of formulation and/or presentation of clinical nursing information systems.
- Coordinate the introduction of nursing information systems with key stakeholders and identifies support systems which will integrate systems into nursing practice.
- Develop and implements the education of nursing information systems and serve as a resource for nursing staff regarding information systems.
- Partner with nursing leadership to match resources to support nursing practice information systems.
- Analyze multiple approaches/solutions to the informatics issue or problem.
- Builds effective working relationships throughout the organization with directors, managers, staff, physicians, patients and suppliers.
- Act as a resource to staff on clinical, professional, ethical and legal issues pertaining to service delivery.
- Participate in development and testing of the application functions.
- Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness, costs, and impact in conducting informatics practice.
- Participate in, and lead person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
- Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
- Perform other applicable task and duties assigned within the realm of his knowledge, skill and abilities.
Education/ Professional Qualification
Bachelor's degree
Nursing
Experience
Five (5) years of experience in clinical setting. Two (2) years of experience with clinical information systems.
System Implementation and Support
Assist with System Implementation: Help in the selection, implementation, and integration of electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare technologies within the healthcare organization.
Provide Training: Train nursing staff and other healthcare providers on the use of new technologies, EHR systems, and other software to improve patient care delivery.
Troubleshoot Issues: Offer ongoing technical support to nursing staff to resolve issues related to healthcare IT systems and technologies.
. Data Management and Analysis
Collect and Analyze Data: Gather, analyze, and interpret clinical data from various healthcare information systems to improve patient outcomes, streamline processes, and enhance decision-making.
Develop Data Standards: Develop and maintain data standards for clinical systems to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness in patient data management.
Monitor Quality Metrics: Monitor clinical data and nursing practices through informatics tools to identify trends, track patient outcomes, and support quality improvement initiatives.
Workflow Optimization
Improve Clinical Workflows: Analyze nursing workflows and clinical processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend changes that will enhance workflow and patient care through the use of technology.
Enhance Communication: Implement tools and systems that improve communication between nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to support collaborative decision-making and better patient outcomes.
Facilitate Electronic Documentation: Ensure proper use and integration of electronic documentation tools, enabling accurate, real-time charting and improving the flow of information across the healthcare team.
