Occupational Therapist

To be eligible to apply, you must meet the below criteria:
Should be a Saudi national.
Should have a bachelor's degree or above.
Should not have been employed or registered in GOSI for the last six months.
Should not have previously participated in the Tamheer program.
Patient Assessment and Evaluation
Initial Evaluation: Conducting comprehensive assessments to understand a patient's medical history, physical and cognitive abilities, and limitations. This includes evaluating a patient's ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, cooking, bathing, and mobility.
Developing Goals: Working with the patient and their family to establish short- and long-term goals for therapy, focusing on improving functionality in daily tasks and increasing independence.
Identifying Barriers: Identifying environmental, physical, cognitive, or emotional barriers that may be preventing the patient from performing essential activities and developing strategies to overcome them.
Designing and Implementing Treatment Plans
Customized Therapy Plans: Creating individualized therapy plans based on the assessment, tailoring interventions to the specific needs and goals of each patient.
Therapeutic Activities: Using activities, exercises, and techniques designed to improve motor skills, cognitive function, coordination, strength, and mobility. These activities may include adaptive techniques, fine and gross motor skills training, and cognitive exercises.
Assistive Devices: Recommending and training patients to use assistive devices and adaptive equipment, such as wheelchairs, grab bars, prosthetics, or specialized utensils, to aid in performing daily tasks.
Developing Home Programs: Providing patients and families with home exercises and activities that promote continued improvement outside of therapy sessions.
Rehabilitation and Recovery
Physical Rehabilitation: Helping patients recover from injuries, surgeries, or illnesses by restoring or improving their ability to perform daily tasks and return to work or school.
Neurological Rehabilitation: Assisting individuals with neurological conditions, such as stroke, brain injury, or Parkinson's disease, by improving motor function, cognitive skills, and adaptive strategies for daily activities.
Pediatric Therapy: Working with children to help them develop motor skills, cognitive abilities, and adaptive techniques needed for tasks such as writing, tying shoes, or playing with peers.
Geriatric Therapy: Helping elderly patients maintain independence and improve function by adapting living spaces, teaching adaptive strategies, and improving strength and mobility to prevent falls.
Strong academic results.
Good command of the English, Arabic language.
Good experience MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
Good Communication Skills.
Patient Education and Support
Educating Patients and Families: Teaching patients and their families about the therapeutic process, home exercises, use of adaptive equipment, and strategies for improving daily functioning.
Providing Emotional Support: Offering emotional and psychological support to patients and their families, as therapy may involve overcoming physical and mental challenges related to disability or illness.
Promoting Self-Care: Encouraging patients to take an active role in their own recovery by setting realistic goals and practicing self-care techniques.
Collaboration with Healthcare Teams
Working with Physicians: Collaborating with doctors, physical therapists, speech therapists, social workers, and other healthcare providers to develop a comprehensive treatment plan for patients.
Coordinating Care: Ensuring that the patient's progress is communicated across the healthcare team, and that the therapy plan is adjusted as needed based on feedback from other professionals.
Consulting with Employers and Schools: For patients returning to work or school, OTs may consult with employers or school staff to ensure accommodations are in place, such as ergonomic furniture or modified schedules, to support the patient's return.
. Documenting and Reporting
Maintaining Patient Records: Keeping detailed records of patient assessments, treatment plans, progress, and outcomes. Accurate documentation is critical for continuity of care, reimbursement, and legal purposes.
Progress Reports: Regularly updating treatment goals and outcomes, communicating progress to the patient's primary physician, and adjusting therapy plans as necessary to ensure optimal patient recovery.
