Roles and responsibilities

Lead and train environmental services staff on their job and area of responsibility. Plan and organize work schedules and special assignments. Establish and maintain the highest standard of cleanliness in the most efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Responsible for evaluation of job performance of all environmental services staff.
  • Monitors environmental cleanliness and hygiene of the designated area assigned to each environmental services staff.
  • Implement daily work schedule and special assignments to staff fairly and effectively ensuring the minimum interference with the work of the department concerned.
  • Ensures that all environmental services staff gets proper training and orientation of all their job responsibility, procedures techniques, and policies of HMG.
  • Ensures that all environmental services staff complies with the policies and procedures and take necessary disciplinary action as needed.
  • Regularly conducts check-up of all machinery and equipment, furniture and curtains and ensures proper maintenance and conditions and inform the management of any damage it may have.
  • Comply with the standards laid down by the Joint Commission of Accreditation on Healthcare Organization and perform the duties necessary to support and achieve accreditation.
  • Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
  • Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
  • Perform any applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his knowledge, skills and abilities.

  • Team Supervision and Leadership:

    • Lead and supervise the environmental services team, ensuring tasks are completed according to schedules and standards.
    • Assign cleaning tasks, monitor performance, and ensure staff adheres to cleaning protocols and safety procedures.
    • Provide training and development opportunities to team members, including new cleaning techniques, safety standards, and equipment handling.

  • Cleaning and Sanitation:

    • Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas within the facility, including patient rooms, public spaces, offices, hallways, and restrooms.
    • Supervise deep cleaning tasks, including floor care, window cleaning, and upholstery cleaning, ensuring that the facility remains compliant with cleanliness and infection control regulations.
    • Monitor the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment to ensure proper application and adherence to safety guidelines.

Educational : Diploma holder; preferably University Graduate
Professional : Any discipline
Certification : N/A

Experience

At least 4 years' experience in the same field.
Leadership and Management: Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of environmental service workers.
Cleaning and Sanitation Expertise: In-depth knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment used in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in various environments.
Attention to Detail: Ensures thorough cleaning and sanitization of facilities, paying attention to high-touch areas and infection control protocols.
Safety and Compliance Knowledge: Familiar with workplace safety standards, OSHA regulations, and infection control practices.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cleaning operations, equipment, and staffing.
Time Management: Effectively prioritizes and manages the team's workload to ensure cleaning tasks are completed within established time frames.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Customer Service: Works collaboratively with other departments, ensuring cleanliness supports the health and comfort of patients, residents, and staff.
