Roles and responsibilities

Inventory Analyst is the main responsible of managing and optimizing inventory operations to maintain accuracy and age along with maximizing orders fulfillment. He/she is responsible for monitoring the stock movements starting from receiving containers and ending with dispatching items to the end customer, ensuring conformity of actual stock with WMS in all stages. Also, tackling cases of inventory discrepancy using problem solving skills and communicating the results professionally with suggesting the right corrective and preventive action. He/she is required to provide inventory reports to all stakeholders along with recommendations to maintain accuracy and age. Finally, he/she is required to monitor and improve inventory operations continuously.
Responsibilities:

Maintaining Inventory Accuracy on WMS versus Actual Stock.
Tackling Inquiries for Stock Discrepancy.
Providing Required Inventory Reports.
Monitoring and Auditing In & Out Stock Transactions.
Reviewing and Evaluating Inventory Processes Continuously.
Inventory Management
Monitor inventory levels: Regularly track inventory levels across warehouses, stores, or distribution centers, ensuring that stock levels are maintained within optimal ranges.
Replenishment: Identify when inventory needs to be replenished to prevent stockouts and ensure that customer demand is met without overstocking.
Track stock movements: Record and track all incoming and outgoing inventory, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data in the system.
Analyze stock discrepancies: Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies between recorded stock levels and actual physical inventory, identifying reasons for shortages or excess stock.
Forecasting and Demand Planning
Analyze demand trends: Review historical sales data, seasonal trends, and market conditions to predict future demand for products.
Collaborate with sales and procurement teams: Work closely with sales and procurement teams to forecast demand accurately and adjust inventory levels accordingly.
Create demand forecasts: Use forecasting tools and models to predict product demand, ensuring stock availability while avoiding overstock situations.
Develop inventory replenishment plans: Based on demand forecasts, create inventory replenishment plans and recommend optimal order quantities and frequencies.

  • Attention to detail: Precision in tracking and managing inventory to avoid discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.
  • Problem-solving abilities: Ability to resolve inventory issues such as stock shortages, surpluses, or discrepancies quickly and effectively.
  • Knowledge of inventory management software: Familiarity with software tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Excel) used for tracking inventory and generating reports.
  • Organizational skills: Ability to handle multiple inventory tasks, manage deadlines, and coordinate between departments.
  • Communication skills: Effective communication with suppliers, warehouse staff, and internal teams to ensure smooth inventory management.
  • Time management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under tight deadlines.
  • Negotiation skills: Experience negotiating with suppliers or vendors to secure the best prices, delivery schedules, and terms.
