Roles and responsibilities

This role will require sound leadership and tax support in a range of taxation areas with responsibility for planning, advisory, compliance, reporting, audit defence and dispute resolution matters. Of note, there will be a focus on the active management of company compliance obligations outside KSA.

International Tax Compliance
Tax Filings and Documentation: Ensure compliance with international tax regulations and prepare required filings for different jurisdictions, such as corporate income tax returns, VAT/GST filings, and transfer pricing documentation.
Cross-Border Tax Compliance: Oversee and ensure compliance with tax laws in multiple countries, including local tax reporting requirements and deadlines.
Monitoring Tax Developments: Stay up to date with changes in international tax laws, treaties, and regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant with new rules.
Tax Planning and Strategy
Tax Optimization: Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies for international operations, including structuring and financing of cross-border transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
Transfer Pricing: Manage transfer pricing policies to ensure compliance with arm's-length principles and avoid tax audits or disputes. This includes preparing or overseeing the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and managing intercompany transactions.
Tax Minimization: Advise on strategies to minimize taxes through the use of tax treaties, exemptions, credits, and deductions available in different countries, while ensuring legal compliance.
Cross-Border Mergers and Acquisitions: Support in structuring international mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures in a tax-efficient manner to reduce the global tax burden.

Desired candidate profile

Qualified degree, you must demonstrate a minimum of 8 sound years of experience in direct taxation, international taxation and the application of bilateral tax agreements.

Tax Risk Management
Risk Assessment: Evaluate and manage potential tax risks related to international operations, such as exposure to audits, tax liabilities, or potential penalties from non-compliance with foreign tax authorities.
Tax Disputes and Audits: Handle disputes with international tax authorities, including negotiations and settlements of tax controversies, audits, and reviews by foreign tax agencies.
Tax Provisioning: Oversee the accurate calculation of tax provisions related to international operations, ensuring financial statements reflect appropriate tax liabilities and deferred tax assets/liabilities.
. Advisory and Consultation
Strategic Tax Advice: Provide tax guidance to senior management and various business units on the tax implications of international business decisions, such as expansion into new markets or the establishment of new subsidiaries abroad.
Advisory to Business Units: Offer advice to international teams on tax-efficient business structures, foreign investment strategies, and cross-border transactions.
Corporate Structuring: Provide insights on the tax implications of global restructuring, financing arrangements, and potential tax-efficient entities or jurisdictions.
