Position Title: Fashion Technology Professor

Overview:
As a Fashion Technology Professor, you will be responsible for designing and delivering courses that integrate technology with fashion design and production. Your expertise will be crucial in educating students on the latest advancements in fashion technology, including wearable technology, digital design tools, sustainable manufacturing practices, and innovative materials. You will inspire and mentor students, preparing them for careers at the intersection of fashion and technology.

Key Responsibilities:

- Curriculum Development:

- Create curriculum materials, including lectures, assignments, projects, and assessments, that reflect industry trends and best practices.
- Regularly update course content to incorporate advancements in fashion technology and respond to industry demands.
- Instruction and Delivery:

- Deliver engaging and interactive lectures, workshops, and demonstrations that facilitate learning and exploration of fashion technology concepts.
- Provide hands-on instruction in the use of relevant software tools, equipment, and techniques.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment that encourages experimentation, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Mentorship and Advising:

- Provide guidance and mentorship to students pursuing projects and research in fashion technology.
- Offer academic and career advising to students, helping them identify opportunities and develop skills relevant to their interests and goals.
- Support student organizations and extracurricular activities related to fashion technology.
- Research and Scholarship:

- Conduct research in fashion technology, contributing to the academic and professional discourse in the field.
- Publish scholarly articles, papers, and books on relevant topics in fashion technology.
- Seek external funding opportunities to support research initiatives and collaborative projects.
- Industry Engagement:

- Cultivate relationships with industry partners, including fashion companies, technology firms, research institutions, and professional organizations.
- Collaborate on industry-sponsored projects, internships, and experiential learning opportunities for students.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and market developments through networking, conferences, and professional development activities.
- Institutional Service:

- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other institutional activities as required.
- Contribute to accreditation processes, program assessments, and curriculum reviews.
- Represent the department and institution at academic conferences, exhibitions, and other public events.

Qualifications:

- A terminal degree (Ph.D., MFA, or equivalent) in fashion design, fashion technology, apparel engineering, têxtiles, or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in fashion technology, including proficiency in digital design software, CAD/CAM systems, 3D modeling, wearable technology, and sustainable fashion practices.
- Teaching experience at the college or university level, with a track record of effective course design, instruction, and student mentorship.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
- Active involvement in scholarly research, with a record of publications, presentations, or creative works in fashion technology or related fields.
- Experience collaborating with industry partners and stakeholders, preferably in a fashion or technology context.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.

**Salary**: ﷼1,000.00 - ﷼3,000.00 per month
