Clinical Engineer I

Provides for the operational and technical support of medical, diagnostic, therapeutic and analytical devices and systems utilized for applied patient healthcare and healthcare research. Designated technical specialist for assigned medical and research technology.
**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:
1. Performs technical support duties for assigned medical and research technology as required. Provides for scheduled preventive maintenance of assigned medical equipment. Follows manufacturer’s guidelines for this repair and scheduled preventive maintenance.
2. Performs medical and research technology operational support duties, including pre-acquisition medical technology analysis, site preparation and planning, implementation, on-going operational support analysis and technology retirement.
3. Trains and guides Medical, Nursing, Clinical Engineer II’s, Clinical Engineering Technicians, SCDP participants, Student Interns, and other Clinical Engineering staff on the technical support of more complex medical and research technology. Training could be either informal on-the-job training or formal classroom training. Performs the role of technical knowledge source for assigned medical and research technology.
4. Ensures that medical and research equipment meets all technical support by the vendors, ensuring that all relevant KFSHRC standards prior to purchase.
5. Provides for and/or coordinates medical equipment user education and instruction, as required.
6. Is competent in the Clinical Engineering medical technology database and other related computer software programs, as required.
7. Participates in all Hospital’s committees, as assigned.
8. Follows all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.
9. Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
**Education**:
Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, or other related discipline is required
**Experience Required**:
Four (4) years of related experience with Bachelor’s is required.
**Other Requirements(Certificates)**:
Valid License from Country of origin.
