Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented **QC Inspector **to join our team in NEOM.

Parsons is providing Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services for the development of NEOM Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. NEOM is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. The site is near the Red Sea and the borders of Egypt, Israel, and Jordan. It will cover a total area of 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea.

**What You'll Be Doing**:
Pre-welding:

- Verify that the material to be welded is:

- In accordance with drawings / WPSs
- Identified and traced to a test certificate
- In suitable condition, i.e., free of damage and contamination
- WPS is approved and available to welders and inspectors
- Welding equipment is in suitable condition and calibrated as appropriate.
- Weld preparations are in accordance with WPS and/or drawings
- Identification of welders’ qualification for each WPS in use and all welders’ qualification certificates are valid.

Welding consumables to be used are:

- As specified by the WPS
- Stored/controlled as specified by the QC procedure
- Joint fit-ups are in accordance with WPS / drawings
- Tack welds are acceptable as per Standards, Code or WPS
- Weld faces are free from defects, contamination and damage
- If required, minimum preheat temperature is in accordance with WPS

Welding:

- Ensure weather conditions are suitable, comply with Code and will not adversely affect welding in the field
- The welder is approval, registered /qualified for the WPS in use
- Welding process must be in accordance with WPS
- If required, minimum preheat temperature is maintained in accordance with WPS
- Inter-pass maximum temperature is in accordance with WPS
- Welding consumables are in accordance with WPS and controlled as per QC procedure
- Welding parameters, e.g., current, volts, travel speed are in accordance with WPS
- For single-sided welds, root run is visually acceptable to Code before filling the joint
- Ensure good workmanship gouging / grinding undertaken to an approved method
- Ensure good workmanship standard of inter-run cleaning

Post Welding:

- Weld traceability maintained
- Visually inspect and sentence welds in accordance with Code and ensure weld profile, cleanliness, etc., is suitable for all NDT
- Check weld dimensions are in accordance with drawing/Code
- Ensure any modifications made necessarily are denoted on as-built drawings
- Ensure all NDT is completed, and reports are available for records
- Monitor any repair work are in accordance with the procedure
- Monitor post weld heat treatment (PWHT), where specified, for compliance with the procedure, check chart record
- Ensure pressure/load test equipment, if required, is calibrated and monitor test to ensure compliance with procedure/Code and ensure reports/records are available
- Ensure all reports/records are completed and collated as required

Records & Reporting:

- Sign off Work Inspection requests (WIRs) and Material Inspection requests (MIRs)
- Review contractors’ documentation and ensure that it is current and concurrent with the works
- Sign off completed welds to allow works progression
- Conduct welding audits
- Report any issues arising at Weekly QC meetings
- Report and Issue weekly inspection report

**What Required Skills You'll Bring**:

- Minimum 5 years Welding inspection experience
- Fluent English language abilities, document and report writing
- Excellent inter-personal skills at all levels
- ISO 9001 awareness
- Cognizant of construction inspection practices, Codes and Standards
- Timely, accurate & targeted reporting of activities
- Practiced in expeditious processing of WIRs, MATs, MIRs
- Practiced in use of Microsoft Office suite, EDMS aware
- H&S risk aware & knowledgeable of H&S management practices
- Heavy constructional steel experience
- Consultant role experience
- Middle Eastern working experience
