**Job Description**:
Carries out quantity surveying and commercial activities to meet project objectives, including providing advice, guidance and support to the project team. Responsible for measuring quantities in order to certify the payment certificates, contract documents, managing costs for new phases, undertaking cost analysis for additional work, performing risk and value management, cost control and project performance reporting.Duties & Responsibilities: Prepare BOQ reconciliationPrepare Monthly Progress Report.Check the Contractor’s interim and final payment certificates.Evaluate unit rates for new items of works.Check joint measurements for interim payments.Compute final payment quantities.Maintain progress schedule and cash flow chart.Assist in preparation of Variation Orders.Assist in evaluating claims. Conducts surveys to ascertain the locations of natural features and human-made structures on the earth's surface, underground, and underwater, using electronic distance-measuring equipment and other surveying instruments. Operates and manages land-information computer systems, performs tasks such as storing data, making inquiries, and producing plots and reports. Reviews information from survey teams regarding measurement of distances, directions, angles between points and elevation of points, lines, and contours on, above, and below the earth’s surface. Researches legal records, looks for evidence of previous boundaries, and analyzes the data to determine the location of boundary lines. Records the results of surveys, verifies the accuracy of data, and prepares plots, maps, and reports. An experienced professional with general understanding of area of specialization. Normally receives instruction on routine work.
**Qualifications**:
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**: 10 years of related professional work experience.Middle East experience preferred.Specific skills required: Excellent working knowledge of QS practicesIn depth knowledge of the new forms of contract (FIDIC etc.)High level of critical thinking skillsHigh level of numerical skillsClear written/Verbal communication skillsHigh level of presentation skillsPerson Specification: Receptive ApproachDisplays initiativeAttention to detailCommitted to quality outcomesSound interpersonal & relationship building skillsTeam oriented PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering/Diploma in QS or in a related field.Membership in professional quantity surveying society.
