**Role Overview**

The Operation and Maintenance Advisor will oversee the implementation and optimization of operational and maintenance strategies for water infrastructure systems within the Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE) project. This role focuses on enhancing system reliability, maximizing efficiency, and ensuring compliance with operational standards. Reporting to the Construction Director, the advisor will coordinate with technical teams to deliver sustainable and effective solutions, achieving project goals within specified timelines and budget constraints.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Operational Strategy and Oversight**:
Develop and implement comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) plans for TSE systems.

Monitor and evaluate system performance to identify areas for improvement.

Optimize resource utilization, including manpower, equipment, and materials.

**Maintenance Management**:
Establish and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules.

Ensure compliance with local, national, and international maintenance standards and regulations.

Manage spare parts inventory to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to track O&M performance.

Prepare and present reports on operational and maintenance performance to stakeholders and senior management.

**Risk Management**:
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential operational and maintenance issues.

Implement mitigation strategies to minimize risks and ensure continuous operation.

**Training and Capacity Building**:
Provide technical training and support to operations and maintenance teams.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies to align O&M strategies with overall project objectives.

Maintain strong communication with stakeholders to address concerns and ensure satisfaction.

**Environmental and Sustainability Focus**:
Promote sustainable operational practices to minimize environmental impact.

Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and implement initiatives for resource cons.

**Experience and Skills Required**

Bachelor of Science (BSc) with over 15 years of relevant design and supervision experience in large-scale water infrastructure projects, OR

Master of Science (MSc) with over 12 years of relevant design and supervision experience in large-scale water infrastructure projects.

Degree from Recognized University.

Membership of chartered institutions.

Demonstrated expertise in implementing O&M strategies and best practices.

Proven track record in optimizing operational efficiency and managing complex systems.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools.

In-depth knowledge of local and international O&M regulations and standards.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Experience in specify relevant sector, e.g., renewable energy, water treatment, etc.

Expertise in asset management and lifecycle planning.

Membership in recognized professional bodies related to operations and maintenance.
