Legal & Compliance Counsel

**Job Description**:
Implement Legal plans and support the activities to provide legal advice/counsel in business-related areas, either for markets, regions, functions.

Job Responsibilities- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the General Manager and other members of the Leadership Team in Saudi Arabia and other assigned markets as may be required from time to time.-
- Responsible for the day-to-day legal and compliance matters in Saudi Arabia across all business units (prescription (Rx), aesthetics (Ax) and consumer (Cx) and enabling functions.-
- Represent and articulate the needs/requirements/differences of assigned markets within the Regional, Global Legal and Compliance Function, working closely with the Head of Legal & Compliance META, Regional, Global and other country-level legal and compliance colleagues to ensure consistent, strategic, reliable, and solutions-oriented support to enable the Galderma business while protecting company assets and reputation.Navigation of grey areas and effective education on and raising awareness of legal and compliance boundaries within an evolving legal and regulatory framework and growing business.-
- Supporting Galderma’s with local corporate law and company secretarial matters for designated legal entities within the META region to the extent needed.Identification, development and roll-out of training programs across the assigned markets ensuring relevant staff are fully conversant with the appropriate regulations, industry codes and standards.-
- Efficient and timely management of litigation matters;-
- Management of external counsel engagements, instructions and spend and overseeing delivery of work matters assigned to counsel.-
- Facilitate training and provide advice with regards to corporate policies, codes of conduct, and applicable rules and regulations in line with the laws in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia including promotional compliance, and other data privacy requirements,, transparency reporting, third party due diligence, ABAC compliance.-
- Employ a pragmatic commercial mindset to effectively balance opportunities and risk, thereby enabling and facilitating a wide range of business opportunities in line with the company’s ambitious growth strategy while remaining within the boundaries of the law.Minimum Requirements

**Qualifications**:
- Qualified to practice law-
- English and Arabic (additional languages are a plus).-
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.Experience- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in private practice and/or in-house setting is required.-
- Strong knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to prescription drugs and medical devices especially in Saudi Arabia.-
- Experience reviewing advertising and promotional materials of pharmaceutical products is preferred especially in Saudi Arabia.-
- Excellent communication (verbal/written), interpersonal, and organizational/ time management skills are required.-
- A high level of integrity while working under pressure is required.-
- Ability to function effectively with minimum supervision is required.-
- Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.-
