Functions as the AH-64E Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) in coordination with Production Control (PC) Manager. The Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) shall be responsible for performing Maintenance Test Flights (MTF), Maintenance Operational Checks (MOC), conducting in-flight troubleshooting and verification of aircraft to ensure airworthiness. The MTP will perform general or limited test flights IAW TM 1-1500-328-23, operate the aircraft IAW the appropriate operator’s manual, checklists (-CL and -MTF) and within the standards prescribed in the Aircrew Training Manual or FMS equivalent. The MTP shall complete all required maintenance forms, records, and log book entries. The MTP shall calculate required weight, balance and performance data. Ensures all related operations are conducted in a safe manner.

**Major Duties and Responsibilities**

A. Duties/responsibilities:
1. Ensures MTFs and MOCs are planned and coordinated with assigned PC Managers, host nation commanders, copilot and other company pilots.

2. Responsible for maintenance test flight preparation; performance planning, briefing, and approvals.

3. Establishes daily maintenance test flight goals with PC and other MTPs.

4. Serves as a mission briefing officer (MBO)

5. Aircraft recovery missions, as needed.

6. Technical Inspector (safe-for-flight release authority) IAW DA Pam 738-751 and AR 95-20

7. Attends the daily maintenance meeting for coordination of maintenance activities requiring MTP support.

8. Files required risk assessments, mission approval requests, and flight plans with appropriate agencies.

9. Supports the Downed Aircraft Recovery Team (DART).

10. Supports aircraft delivery operations when new aircraft are received.

11. Other tasks as directed by the PC Supervisor.

B. Independence: Reports to the Division Deputy Manager (Maintenance). Coordinates daily efforts with PC Manager. Authority to select and implement goals and objectives within the execution of duties and responsibilities.

C. Supervisory Responsibilities: As assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications**

A. Education Level:
1. Required: High school diploma or equivalent required.

2. Preferred: Advanced degree or equivalent.

B. Training Certifications:
1. Required: Graduate of the US Army AH-64E MTP course or Directorate of Evaluations and Standards (DES) equivalent.

2. Preferred: Maintenance Examiner in AH-64E.

C. Experience:
1. Required: Five (5) years’ experience as a Maintenance Test Pilot in AH-64 series and two (2) years’ as AH-64E MTP.

2. Required: Meet the requirements of AR 95-20.

3. Preferred: Ten (10) years’ experience as a Maintenance Test Pilot in AH-64 series and five (5) years’ as AH-64E MTP..

D. Specific knowledge, skills, ability:
1. Successfully pass Second Class FAA medical examination prior to hire. Maintain medical qualification.

2. Proficient in MS Office software.

3. Proficient in the use of interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms, and other aircraft related documentation.

4. Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

5. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner.

6. Possess a valid issued driver’s license.

7. Successfully pass an overseas deployment physical upon hire.
