- The director of organizational excellence position is responsible for managing and supporting the assessment of organizational needs and the design, implementation and evaluation of programs that facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of team members, particularly chiefs and emerging leaders. Assists the Management in creating, communicating, implementing, and maintaining strategic initiatives. Ensure and drive formulation and articulation of the Hospital’s long-term strategies and translation of individual parts into short-term initiatives (Organization, Business and Functional levels). Establishing and guiding the selection, prioritization, balancing, and termination processes for change portfolio components to ensure alignment with organizational strategy. Provide overall direction for enterprise change by establishing and ensuring adherence to clear Programme/ Project Management policies and procedures that are aligned to best practice. Provides independent oversight to the Chiefs and GDHA on the KAAUH’s progress in implementing its strategic initiatives and achievement of long-term strategy.**Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Direct the operations of the department, providing expertise, encouraging and ensuring teamwork, aligning work processes in order to achieve high performance standards, meet established targets, objectives and employee engagement.
- Ensure the effective achievement of divisional objectives through the leadership of the unit
- setting divisional objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal - in order to maximize subordinate and divisional performance.
- Develops capability within the team to provide consultative services and be a “Think Tank” on various topics for the Hospital.
- Facilitate and drive the formulation, articulation and refining of the Hospital’s strategy.
- Steer and support implementation of change management/ transformational initiatives within the Hospital to respond more effectively to the business objectives, in line with the Hospital’s strategy and plans.
- Provide up to date strategic research to the leadership team in matters related to Hospital Environments (internal/ external).
- Facilitate communication of the hospital mission, vision, strategy business plans, balanced scorecards, change portfolio and programme progress.
- Coordinate and steer the Annual Change Planning process, work with stakeholders to build proposals for the Hospital-wide Change Control Board.
- Support initiative teams with skills in process planning, project management, facilitation, problem solving, and accelerating transformation to drive towards the required outcomes.
- Identify and highlight to Chiefs strategic and mid-term risks that may impact implementation activities and/ or the hospital strategy or business plans.
- Ensure that all regular/ adhoc reports maintain independence, completed timely and comply with principles of standards, KAAUH policies and procedures.
- Review and provide independent program status/ achievement reports so that the GDHA is equipped with the necessary knowledge and capability to take decisions.
- Monitor divisional performance and highlight short comings promptly and where possible recommend potential performance improvement opportunities.
- Directs the development and oversees the implementation of operational policies covering all areas of the department so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled while delivering quality, cost-effective services to the hospital.
