Bechtel and its consortium partners are excited to begin hiring the completion teams which will finalize the monumental Riyadh Metro Project (RMP), currently estimated at 94% complete. The BACS consortium, which includes Almabani General Contractors, Consolidated Contractors Company, and Siemens, is responsible for the design, construction, train cars, and signaling as well as electrification and integration of the new lines to the rest of the system. Riyadh’s population of nearly 6 million is forecast to increase to 8 million by 2030. The new metro system will meet the demands of the growing population while reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality.

**Summary of Responsibilities**:
The Control Systems MEP Engineer - TVS (Tunnel Ventilation System) reports to the Project Manager and mainly responsible for providing technical assistance, direction, and support to self-perform and subcontractor field supervision for installation and completion activities associated with instrumentation & components of Tunnel Ventilation System and its bulks. Some of the specific activities involved, but not limited to:

- Coordinate installation activities with construction/site engineers, Field Engineers, Construction Managers, and subcontractors and provide field engineering support.
- Lead and manage the subcontractor’s construction team responsible for the Tunnel Ventilation system installation activities such as (conduits, TVS cable pulling, TVS devices and TVS panels installation and termination).
- Read and review the TVS shop drawings and make sure all the interfaces are considered and executed during the construction phase.
- Perform inspections and initiate supporting documentation for interpretation of design related issues associated with Tunnel Ventilation System scope.
- Monitor and expedite engineering issues, coordinate with resident engineering team, home office engineering team for timely resolution of field change documents (FCD, RFI, NCR etc.) and engineering deliverables.
- Review scope of work to go activities and ensure engineering information, TVS equipment, components and bulks are available to support the completion schedule.
- Coordinate with vendors, equipment and system providers and resolve vendor related technical issues.
- Perform material take-offs & prepare Field Material Requisitions for equipment and instrument bulk materials.
- Resolve technical issues holding up work by understanding the problem, working with Engineering or other stakeholders as required and pushing a suitable solution through.
- Ensure work is performed in compliance with Approved shop drawings, project specifications and approved ITPs.
- Monitor quality inspections performed by contractors to verify compliance with inspection and test plans.
- Ensure quantities are reported correctly and in timely manner.
- Coordinate and assist system completion of direct hire and subcontractor’s scope of work.
- Attend progress meetings, coordination meetings, quality meetings with subcontractor and other departments.
- Support system completion walkdowns, lead and facilitate closure of punch list items
- Administers assigned subcontracts to ensure contract remains up to date in areas such as drawings, specifications, cost, and schedule.
- Support documentation turnover
- Support development of trends for proposed design changes or any change that impacts the cost and schedule of the work.
- Review Redline Shop drawings and as-builts submitted by subcontractors.
- Provide weekly installed quantity reporting updates of assigned work areas.
- Support the creation of work environment that fosters rely, communication, teamwork, and satisfaction.

**Qualifications, Experience, Job Knowledge, and Skill set Requirements**:

- A recognized bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in installation and pre-commissioning of Tunnel Ventilation System on underground rail / metro projects
- Thorough knowledge of international standards and specification and codes as applicable, including various Safety procedures and practices associated with the construction.
