**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Buyer to join our procurement team at Geekay Advanced. The Assistant Buyer will work closely with the Senior Buyer and other team members to support the purchasing process, manage supplier relationships, and ensure that all products meet our quality and pricing standards. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career in buying within the retail industry.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Order Management**: Assist in placing and tracking purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of goods. Place purchase orders with approved suppliers and ensure accurate and timely delivery. Track order status and follow up with vendors on any issues or delays. Assist in resolving any discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices.
- **Vendor Coordination**:Communicate with vendors to obtain product information, negotiate prices, and confirm orders. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers. Assist in evaluating vendor performance based on quality, price, and delivery timelines.
- **Product Selection**:Assist the Buyer in selecting and sourcing products that align with market trends and customer demand. Review samples, suggest modifications, and ensure products meet quality standards. Monitor competitor activities and provide insights to support product selection.
- **Inventory Management**: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to replenish stock as needed. Monitor stock levels and assist in managing inventory to avoid overstock or stockouts. Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure smooth receipt and distribution of goods.
- **Supplier Relationships**: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
- **Market Research**: Conduct research on market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences that align with company goals.
- **Sales & Data Analysis**: Analyze sales data to identify trends, bestsellers, and slow-moving items. Prepare reports and presentations to support buying decisions. Provide recommendations for markdowns, promotions, or reorders based on sales performance.
- **Quality Control**: Ensure that all products meet the company’s quality standards before approval and distribution.
- **Cost Management**: Work closely with the finance team to monitor budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness in purchasing decisions.
- **Reporting**: Prepare and present regular reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and market conditions.
- **Administrative Support**: Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements. Assist in preparing and maintaining budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- **Compliance**:Ensure that all purchasing activities comply with the company’s policies and procedures. Support sustainability initiatives by sourcing environmentally friendly products where possible.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in retail or e-commerce.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make sound purchasing decisions.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with ERP systems or procurement software.
- Knowledge of the retail gaming industry.
- Familiarity with international suppliers and import/export processes.
