This role designs and configures BPCS (Basic Process control systems) at the plant. This is done through DCS (Distributed control system). You will have the opportunity to introduce new technology to enhance company profitability and productivity.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Managing BPCS (Basic Process control systems), SIS (Safety Instrumented Systems) and S88 batch commissioning process.
- Leading the activities to ensure S88 configured batch recipes and phases perform as intended
- Owning the BPCS and SIS systems and ensure required documentation is available and up to date at all times.
- Acting as the single point of contact for any projects or modifications in involving BPCS, SIS or batch programming.
- Providing front line support in a fast-moving manufacturing environment to quickly identify and resolve any related control system problems.
- Demonstrating project management and technical expertise including scheduling, tracking, team assignments, allocation of resources, status reports, facilitate effective problem solving, promotion of new and innovative concepts.
- Maintaining ICSS (Integrated control and safety system) systems hardware and provide technical troubleshooting and loop tuning.
- Supporting the sites Process Hazards Analysis (PHAs) such as HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, Bow tie etc.
- Creating and maintain Cause and Effect (C&E) matrices which depict the basic process control (BPCS) interlock logic and update when required.
- Leading the sites alarm management effort, analyzing data, reporting KPI’s and working to reduce ineffective alarms to the operator.
- Ensuring the sites compliance with the required operating standards such as alarm management ISA18.2, Safety Instrumented Systems IEC61511, Cybersecurity IEC 62443.

To be successful in this role you will:

- Have BSc. or MSc. in engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Control)
- Have 4+ years of chemical plant process engineering & controls experience within a batch manufacturing environment.
- Be proficient in Control design and related development tools; knowledge of industry codes and standards.
- Have 2+ years in direct oil field chemical process experience
- Have experience of working with ABB 800xa Systems a must, Siemens PCS7 advantageous.
- Have knowledge of batch standard ISA88
- Have knowledge of chemical plant best practices including recognized codes & standards, new equipment options, and safety/accident prevention
