- Functions as an Aviation Course Ground School Instructor under the direction of the Aviation Institute. Responsible for performing duties as a Platform Instructor for initial qualification of helicopter pilots, and TACOPS/AMSO instruction. Conduct academic instruction and hands-on performance training and evaluations to ensure student proficiency and adherence to academic standards. Responsible for maintaining Student Academic Records.**Major Duties and Responsibilities**
**A.** Duties/responsibilities:
- ** 1.** The TACOPS / AMSO Instructor shall perform all above duties to include POI technical writing/course ware development and periodic revisions as necessary.
**2.** Responsible for providing direct interface and daily status reports as required between staff for training status.
**3.** Able to perform duties in a culturally sensitive environment and maintain a professional approach, attitude, and appearance at all times.
**4.** Conduct academic instruction and hands-on performance training and evaluations to ensure crewmember proficiency and standardization of training.**5.** Other duties as assigned and or directed by management.
**B.** Independence: Performs within the broad guidelines of duties and responsibilities with significant choice of methods. Authority to select and implement goals and objectives within the execution of duties and responsibilities.**C.** Supervisory Responsibilities: None**Minimum Qualifications**
**A.** Education Level: Associate degree or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of work-related experience and education may be acceptable in lieu of BS/BA education requirements. Additional desired qualifications:
- ** 1.** Graduate of a course of instruction for Aviators at an authorized Aviation Proponent School.
**2.** Graduate of the TACOPS/AMSO course from an authorized Aviation Proponent School or equivalent.
**B.** Experience: Experience in aviation mission (Attack, Observation, Utility, Multi-Mission) operations. 5 years’ experience as a TACOPS/AMSO Battalion Pilot preferred. Former Total Army Instructor Training Course/Army Basic Instructor Course (TAITC/ABIC) graduate desired.**C.** Specific knowledge, skill, and ability requirements: Knowledge of Aviation training concepts and administration. Demonstrated past performance in the development of Programs of Instruction, policies, and operational procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with foreign military students in a professional and courteous manner. Possess a valid driver’s license. DD214 required for
