The opportunity

The purpose of this role is to lead and develop Mace’s Health, Safety, and Wellbeing function across MEA, creating and providing a robust and transparent operating platform, to allow all employees, clients, and supply chain to engage with Mace and innovate in Health and Safety.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing HSW leadership and strategic direction to the MEA consultancy business units.
- Promoting the highest standards of safety, health, and wellbeing across the team.
- Engaging with our clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure our projects are delivered using the best global practices around health, safety, and wellbeing culture.
- Recruiting, motivating, and developing quality HSW people to support Mace’s growth across the region.
- To position, promote, and protect the Mace brand in relation to health, safety and wellbeing, enabling the full role of the “Safety First Second Nature” programme and reporting on compliance across the MEA region.
- To enable the assessment, management, and mitigation of risk in accordance with regulations and best practices relating to HSEQ in all business units.
- Ensuring compliance with HSW KPIs across Mace Group and Consult.
- Developing and providing succession planning and identifying career development activities for your HS&W team.
- Developing and delivering, health, safety, environment, and wellbeing strategies for the region.
- Managing and liaising with other directors of the business.
- Supporting and sustaining the Mace values and culture within the consultancy business sector.
- Providing HSW bid support to other Mace directors on major projects and programmes.
- Developing new and existing client relationships and opportunities.
- Being an active participant in the MEA Leadership Team.

About you

You must have a senior-level profile within the sector and region, be eager to contribute fresh ideas on strategy, business planning, and business development that challenge the normal, you have a high level of academic achievement and personal development.

You have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence internally and externally, you will track record of achieving a strong health, safety, and wellbeing culture, where people feel a sense of personal responsibility for HSW, you must demonstrate a natural ability to appraise, develop and motivate staff and high performing teams, demonstrate the self-motivation, ability and drive to succeed and demonstrate determination through professionalism and a winning mentality.

You possess the confidence and presence to professionally represent Mace to a wide variety of clients, you have the ability to sell the Mace brand, service offerings, and capabilities, accomplished negotiator with the ability to preserve company interests at all times, experience in bidding and securing multinational projects, programmes or frameworks is an advantage, you have the ability to implement critical HS&W strategies and solutions when mobilising major programmes.

You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships, and lead strong, motivated teams. You will have a construction or project management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace have to offer.
