Automation Engineer

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Automation Engineer shall oversee the factory automation system design and installation and ensure that this contributes to safe and optimal operation to meet the organization's delivery, quality and safety goals. Collaborate with the local project team, group technical, consultants and contractors to ensure that the automation system is delivered to the best quality in line with Jotun’s set forth expectations. Ensure proper coordination between multiple design consultants at the time of design.

This position is based at Yanbu and reports to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities:
- Participate in the project from design till, execution, construction, testing and commissioning and handover to operations with final acceptance & closing of project in accordance with Jotun standards and local requirements.- Ensure the design and execution of automation / instrumentation system are following Jotun engineering standards.- Consult and align with group technical discipline lead for automation / instrumentation at every required stage of the project as appropriate.- Assist in evaluating optimal solutions for automation and control systems, work closely with design consultants, contractors and equipment suppliers.- Participate in design review meetings together with consultants and Jotun group technical.- Ensure all the instrumentation, ELV and automation items are approved based on Jotun standards make and supplier lists. Discrepancies shall be highlighted to Jotun Project Manager immediately.- Coordinate with third-party service providers and suppliers to ensure that all necessary materials and services are received on time.- Adhere to Jotun HSE policies and procedures.

We are looking for:
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering - Electrical & Automation or Instrumentation.- 4-5 years of relevant experience. Paint or Chemical factory Projects.- Knowledge of Instrumentation, PLC, SCADA, DCS (Delta V - Emerson preferred) in hazardous zones.- Experience with AutoCAD/BIM, Microsoft Project is preferable.- Fluency in English - both verbally and written.
